Box Score 2 The Misericordia University volleyball team split a pair of matches to open the season at the University of Scranton Tournament, Friday.
The Cougars dropped the opener to Scranton, 3-0, but defeated Gwynedd Mercy in the nightcap, 3-1.
After losing the first two sets to Scranton, 25-17, 25-19, the Cougars led 24-23 in the third set, but the Royals rallied for a 26-24 win.
Jassmine Watson led Mu with 10 kills while
Amanda Curcio added eight and
Tara Welliver had seven.
Karley May had 30 assists and 13 digs.
MU will face Pitt-Bradford and Brockport, Saturday at Scranton.
