The Misericordia University field hockey team lost to Salisbury University, 4-0, Saturday at McGeehan Field.
The Cougars defense shutout the Sea Gulls in the first half behind a strong performance from goalie
Katelyn Campbell. Â The junior keeper tallied nine saves in the first half.
Campbell made several impressive saves throughout the game including back-to-back saves on shots from Rachael Domanico 10 minutes into the game. She ended the game with 20 saves.
Misericordia's best opportunity came 15 minutes into the game when
Kyleigh Knell's shot was blocked in front of the cage by a Sea Gull defender. The scoring chance was generated from a
Kailey Vogl corner.
The Sea Gulls scored all four of their goals in the second half. Emily Lemanski and Arielle Johnston both tallied two apiece.
The Cougars fall to 0-2 on the season and will host Alvernia on Wednesday at 7:00 on Mangelsdorf Field.
