The #24 Misericordia University women's soccer team dropped a tough 1-0 decision at #4 Messiah, Saturday night.
Facing their second top-5 opponent this week, the Cougars were locked in a scoreless battle for 80 minutes until the Falcons tallied the game-winner.
Alexis Benedetto made eight saves in goal for the Cougars.
Hannah Larkin had three of MU's eight shots.
Misericordia carried the play early as the took six of the game's first seven shots over the first 25 minutes.
Benedetto made four saves in a six-minute span late in the first half and Larkin's shot in the final minute was wide.
The Cougars are 5-2-1 and will travel to DeSales for their MAC Freedom opener, Saturday.
