Box Score The Misericordia women's soccer team defeated RIT, 2-1, on an overtime goal from
Kaylee Sturans, Friday at Mangelsdorf Field.
The first-year midfielder scored with 4:10 remaining in the contest after
Michaela Fasolino advanced the ball upfield. Sturans juked her defender and beat the goalkeeper low from 10-yards out. It was Sturans first collegiate goal and Fasolino's first assist.
The Cougars got on the scoreboard first with a goal from
Jeanna Orfanos early in the second half. Orfanos advanced the ball and lifted a floater over the goalkeeper's head from 12-yards out. It was her first goal of the season.

Alexis Benedetto finished with five saves. Benedetto's biggest moment occurred in the 84
th minute when she deflected a Marla Roberts shot off the crossbar, which kept the game tied and forced overtime.
Benedetto made another important save earlier in the contest when she ranged to her right to stop a rip from Rebecca Hext in the first half.
Misericordia improved to 3-0 on the season while the Tigers fall to 2-1. The Cougars will host Kean, Sunday at 3:30, in the final game of the Cougar Classic.
