The Misericordia University men's basketball team won for the fifth time in six games with a 72-70 victory at King's, Wednesday.
Jason Kenny scored a game-high 22 points and added seven rebounds and four assists.
Stone McCreary scored 14 points on four three-pointers and
Alec Rodway added 12 points.
Noah Rivera added eight points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Rodway's three-pointer gave the Cougars a 10-4 lead less than four minutes into the game, but the Monarchs scored 13 straight points to take a 17-10 lead with 12:04 to play in the first half.
Down 21-13, Kenny converted a three-point play and McCreary drained a three-pointer as part of an 8-2 run to get with 23-21.
Another McCreary trey and a short jumper in the lane from Kenny put MU in front, 28-26 with 6:19 to go.
Rivera and
Justin Iton both made free throws late in the half and the Cougars led 33-32 at halftime.
King's made back-to-back three-pointers to take the biggest lead of the second half, 64-59, with 5:59 remaining.
A layup by Rivera and a jumper in the lane from
Tony Harding got the Cougars within 64-63.
Rivera made two free throws to put the Cougars in front, but King's went ahead 69-67 with 2:34 to play.
Kenny hit a jumper and Rodway added a free throw to pull the Cougars even, 70-70 with 1:57 left.
Kenny scored the go-ahead layup with 1:02 to play and the Cougars held King's scoreless the rest of the way.
MU will host FDU-Florham, Saturday.
