Kalynn Sefcik and
Japriya Carroll both had 12 points and six assists to lead the Misericordia University women's basketball team to an 88-46 win over Penn College, Thursday night at the Anderson Center.
Tessa Zamolyi had 11 points and
Paige Wampole grabbed 11 rebounds as the Cougars improved to 12-0.
Erica Haefele had nine points and
Rachel Carmody and
Emma Hayes added eight points as 12 MU players found the scoring column.
Nora Tracey added six points and three blocked shots.
The Cougars raced out to a 27-6 lead after one quarter and never looked back.
Leading 6-4 just over three minutes into the game, MU went on a 21-2 run over the final 6:54 of the opening period.
Five different Cougars scored as part of a 12-0 run over a four-minute span to put MU ahead 18-4 with 2:12 to go in the first period.
Following a Penn bucket, Zamolyi scored on a fast break and Haefele scored twice as the Cougars scored six points in the final minute of the quarter.
Carmody scored six straight points to ignite an 8-0 run to open the second quarter as the Cougars stretched their lead to 35-6 with 7:10 to play.
Misericordia will host Valley Forge, Saturday at 1:00.
