Jason Kenny and
Tony Harding combined for 51 points, including the 1,000
th of Harding's career, as the Misericordia University men's basketball team picked up a key MAC Freedom win at Delaware Valley, 81-66, Wednesday.
Kenny scored 26 points and Harding added 25 as the Cougars improved to 12-8 overall and 5-4 in the MAC Freedom.
Justin Iton and
Noah Rivera both grabbed 10 rebounds for the Cougars.
The Cougars broke an early tie with a 12-2 run to take a 16-6 lead and never trailed.
Kenny scored eight MU's first 10 points and went to score 15 points in the first half on 6-6 shooting, including 3-3 from three-point range.
After the Aggies made three straight three-pointers to get within 20-19, the Cougars responded with a 13-1 run over the next four minutes.
Harding scored seven points in the run and
Alec Rodway scored five straight as the Cougars built a 34-20 lead with 2:53 left in the first half.
The Cougars shot 53.3% from the floor in the first half, including 50.0% (6-12), from three-point range and led 38-24 at halftime.
Kenny's fast break layup gave the Cougars their biggest lead of the night, 49-26, with 16:16 to go.
The Aggies got within 10 points, 51-41, with 10:05 remaining, but never got any closer.
Misericordia will travel to Manhattanville, Saturday.
