Michaela Fasolino scored the only goal of the game late in the first half to lift the Misericordia University women's soccer team to a 1-0 win at FDU-Florham, Saturday afternoon.
Fasolino took a pass from
Jordyn Martini and beat the keeper at 34:34.
Alexis Benedetto made five saves to earn the shutout.
Both teams had 14 shots on the day with the Cougars holding a 7-5 edge in shots on goal. Martini had a team-high four shots while
Devyn Anderson led the Cougars with three shots on goal.
Misericordia improved to 5-4-2 overall and 1-1 in the MAC Freedom.
The Cougars will host Wilkes, Tuesday at 7:00.
