MU Women Down Wilkes, 4-0

Four different players scored goals to lead the Misericordia University women's soccer team to an impressive 4-0 win over Wilkes, Tuesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.

Maegan Allspach scored her first career goal unassisted from 10 yards out to open the scoring with nine minutes remaining in the first half.

Ally Waite, Melissa McHugh and Gabby Babula all added second-half goals as the Cougars improved to 6-4-2 overall and 2-1 in the MAC Freedom.

Kaylee Sturans, Lauren Anderson, Colleen Kinsella and Zoee Farr all added assists and Alexis Benedetto made one save to record her second consecutive shutout.

Waite scored following a corner kick from Sturans after she came charging in from 15 yards out to find the back of the net to make it 2-0 early in the second half.

McHugh received a pass off a header from Anderson and blasted a shot inside the right post from 10 yards out for a 3-0 lead in the 77th minute.

Two minutes after entering the game, Babula ripped a shot inside the left post after Kinsella sent her a header off a corner in the 81st minute.

McHugh nearly had another goal, but her blast from 40 yards out hit the crossbar in the 27th minute.

Waite followed that with another shot off the crossbar just two minutes later.

Misericordia had a 14-3 advantage in shots, including seven to one on goal, and held a 9-2 edge in corners.
