The Misericordia University men's soccer team remained undefeated in the MAC Freedom with a 3-0 win over Delaware Valley, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Bryson Smith,
Ethan Benedict and
Jared Houser all scored goals as the Cougars improved to 5-5-4 overall and 2-0-2 in the MAC Freedom.
Alexei King and
Levi Roberts added assists and
Dominic Pizzi made four saves to earn the shutout.
The Cougars had two solid scoring chances in the first half before finally getting on the board in the 45
th minute.
Roberts played a ball over the top on a free kick from 40 yards to
Cody Rogers in the box, but his header was just wide right in the fifth minute.
Roberts played another ball over the top to Rogers in stride in the 21
st minute, but the Aggies keeper made a point-blank save.
King served a corner kick into the box and Smith headed it into the upper right corner for a 1-0 lead with less than a minute remaining in the first half.
Benedict made it 2-0 just over a minute into the second half when he got behind the Del Val defense and one-time a loose ball in the box inside the left post.
The Cougars added an insurance goal less than a minute later when Roberts took a shot from the left flank and Houser buried the rebound into an empty net.
Misericordia will visit Eastern, Tuesday.
