The Misericordia University women's soccer team extended its winning streak to four games with a 3-1 victory at Eastern, Wednesday afternoon.
Kendall Pearage had a goal and an assist and
Colleen Kinsella and
Maegan Allspach added goals as the Cougars overcame an early 1-0 deficit.
After Eastern took a 1-0 lead at 11:43, Pearage pulled the Cougars even six minutes later when she headed a corner from
Kaylee Sturans just under the crossbar.
Kinsella put the Cougars in front when her shot caromed off the post at 59:52.
Melissa McHugh assisted on the goal.
Allspach added an insurance goal just over two minutes later with an assist from Pearage.
Misericordia held a commanding 28-7 advantage in shots and earned eight corners while allowing just one.
Alexis Benedetto made four saves in goal as the Cougars improved to 8-4-2 overall and 4-1 in the MAC Freedom.
The Cougars will visit King's, Saturday at 1:00.
