The Misericordia University men's soccer team fell to Dickinson, 3-2 in overtime, Wednesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.
Nick Szczerba and Ethan Benedict each scored for the Cougars and Eric Goldberg added an assist.
Szczerba found the inside of the left post off a touch by a Dickinson defender 10 minutes into the second half to give the Cougars the lead.
After Dickinson pulled even in the 71st minute, Benedict answered five minutes later to put the Cougars up 2-1. Goldberg sent a pass up the sideline and found Benedict in stride where he blasted a shot past the keeper.
Nick Ruggiero nearly gave MU the lead in the first half rifling a shot from 10 yards out toward the right post but the Red Devils keeper made a diving save.
Cody Rogers had a good look with 21 minutes left in the first half ripping the ball from 20 yards out that almost snuck past the goal line.
Dickinson forced overtime with a goal off a throw in with less than three minutes remaining in regulation.
The Red Devils scored the game-winner off a header in the 98th minute.
Andrew Daubenspeck made six saves in goal for the Cougars.
Misericordia will travel to FDU-Florham, Saturday at 3 p.m.​
