On the first drive of the second quarter, B. Williams took advantage of a free play when the Warriors jumped offside and he found Gillison for a 38-yard pass that set up the Cougars on the one-yard line. Gawlik scored on the ensuing play with a one-yard run with 14:14 left in the second quarter.

MU had an opportunity to score at the end of the first half, but with no timeouts and a completion to the middle of the field at the Warriors' 11-yard line, the clock expired before MU's next snap.
