Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Harding's Big Day Not Enough Against Immaculata

Despite a big game from Tony Harding, the Misericordia University men's basketball team dropped an 84-75 decision to Immaculata in the consolation game of the Catholic Basketball Invitational, Sunday at St. Vincent College in Latrobe.

Harding scored a game-high 27 points while Jake Bartholomew added 12 points.

Noah Rivera had 10 points, nine rebounds and five assists for the Cougars.

Nate Kreitzer added nine points and was named to the All-Tournament team after a 15-point performance against Catholic in the opening round.

Bartholomew made a pair of three-pointers to give the Cougars an 11-5 lead less than six minutes into the game.

Harding followed with a layup and Diby Keita found Rivera with a nice bounce pass through the lane to give MU a 16-7 lead with 11:48 to play in the first half.

Joseph Baldachino hit a three-pointer from the top of the key and Nate Kreitzer converted a steal into a layup for a 21-13 advantage midway through the first half.

Immaculata chipped away and took its first lead, 25-23, with 7:03 to go in the first half.

Harding tied it with two free throws and Rivera put the Cougars back in front, 26-25, with the front end of a one-and-one.

Harding made it 28-25 with a spin move in the lane, but the Mighty Macs answered with a 10-0 run to take a 35-28 lead.

Kreitzer closed the half with another steal and a layup.

Two quick buckets by Harding got the Cougars within 35-34 in the opening minutes of the second half, but Immaculata gradually pulled away.

Misericordia will host Stockton in their final non-conference game, Saturday at 3:00.
