The Misericordia University men's volleyball team defeated Eastern, 3-0, but fell to Stevenson, 3-0, Friday night in the Anderson Center.
The Cougars topped Eastern in three highly-competitive sets (25-21, 30-28 and 28-26).
Ryan Miller led the way for the Cougars with a team-high 11 kills. The sophomore outside hitter also added nine digs and a service ace to his stat line.
Brian Ross had double-digit kills for the eighth time this season with 10 against Eastern. He had seven digs, two blocks and posted a .261 hitting percentage.
Billy Murphy led the Cougars in hitting percentage with an efficient .500 mark. The first-year standout had eight kills and just two errors in 12 attack attempts.
Jordan Spidle tallied a game-high 34 assists to go along with three kills, two blocks and four digs.
Conner Westerfield added three assists and finished second on the squad with eight digs.
In Misericordia's second contest against Stevenson, the Mustangs controlled the majority of play with a three-set sweep (25-10, 25-17 and 25-22).
Jason Campbell tallied a team-high seven kills and collected eight digs.
Matt Lavin was second on the team with five kills while Miller, Murphy and Ross each had four.
Spidle added three more kills and led the Cougars with 21 assists and eight digs.
Matt Churchill and
Caleb Bauder collected the lone service aces for Misericordia.
The Cougars will take on Wells and Daemen, next Friday.
