The Misericordia University men's lacrosse team opened the season with a 19-10 win over Albright, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Patrick Luzzi led the Cougars with four goals and five assists and
Dylan Walsh added four goals.
Conner Entwistle and
Robert Wagner had three goals and an assist each.
Kyle Vandenberg had two goals, an assist, three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Brandon Winslow added two goals and an assist and
Garrett Heidecker and
Paul Hanrahan added seven and five groundballs, respectively.
Owen Rogers made three saves to earn his first collegiate win.
The Cougars opened the game with seven straight goals and never looked back.
Walsh scored on the right post with a nice pass from the top of the circle from Entwistle less than 30 seconds in to the game.
Luzzi scored off an Albright turnover and Wagner bounced a shot inside the left post to make it 3-0 with 11:13 to go in the opening quarter.
Entwistle added two goals as the Cougars built a 7-0 lead with 5:02 remaining.
Following two Albright goals, Winslow zipped a shot from the left wing to give MU an 8-2 lead after one period.
Walsh scored twice inside the right post early in the second period to make it 10-2 and the Cougars maintained at least a seven-goal lead the rest of the way.
