MU Men Facing Marymount in ECAC Opener

The Misericordia University men's basketball team will host Marymount University in the first round of the 2019 ECAC Championships, Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Anderson Center.

The Cougars, 14-11, are seeded third in pod #2 in the 15-team field.  The Misericordia/Marymount winner will face the Neumann/Drew winner in Friday's quarterfinal round at 8:00 at Hood.

The Cougars and the Saints have one common opponent during the regular season with Misericordia defeating Wesley and Marymount splitting a pair of games against the Wolverines.

This is the second meeting ever between the two teams.  Misericordia defeated Marymount in the championship game of the 2012 McCarthy Tire Laurel Line Tournament.

Misericordia is led by MAC Freedom co-Player of the Year Jason Kenny, a 2,000-point scorer who is averaging 21.0 points per game.  He is shooting 51.7% from the floor, 40.4% from three-point range and 84.4% from the free throw line.

Junior Tony Harding went over the 1,000-point mark for his career and adds 12.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.

Junior center Noah Rivera adds 10.0 points and a team-high 7.5 rebounds per game.

Marymount is 16-12 after losing to Gwynedd Mercy in the championship game in the inaugural season of the Atlantic East Conference.

Steve Etienne leads three players in double figures with 10.8 points per game while Brandon Rogers and LaDarius McCord add 10 points each.

Etienne also leads the team with 6.9 rebounds per game while Xavier Reaves and Ibrahim Kamara add 5.8 and 5.5, respectively.
