The Misericordia University softball team swept a doubleheader at Lycoming, 4-3, 6-1, Thursday.

Winning pitcher Brooke Moyle had two hits and two RBI in the opener and Amanda Butera and Maddie Holub had two hits each.

Moyle struck out three and allowed just four hits to earn the complete game victory.

Miranda Bohn drove in two runs and earned the win in the nightcap.  Moyle and Ciara DeLong both had two hits.

Bohn went the distance while striking out seven and scattering nine hits.

The Cougars took a 3-0 lead in the top of the fourth of game one.

Holub reached on a one-out single to left and moved to second on Kiersten Pflueger's single to left.  Bohn walked to load the bases and Moyle followed with a two-run double.  Megan Murphy doubled to drive in a run to make it 3-0.

Lycoming got two runs back in the bottom of the fourth, but the Cougars answered with an insurance run in the top of the fifth on DeLong's solo homer.

The Warriors scored a run in the bottom of the seventh, but the Cougars cut down the potential tying run at third base to end the game.

In the nightcap, the Cougars scored in each of the first three innings to take a 6-0 lead.

DeLong led off the game with a single and was replaced on Butera's fielder's choice.  Butera stole second and came home on Holub's single the middle with Holub advancing to second.

Murphy singled with two outs in the second and moved up when Jessie McDonough reached on an error.  Murphy scored on DeLong's single and McDonough made it 3-0 when DeLong was caught in a rundown attempting to steal.

Bohn drove in two runs with a double in the third and scored on Moyle's double to make it 6-0.

The Cougars improved to 21-9.
