The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team used a balanced scoring attack to win its sixth straight game, 23-2, Saturday at Manhattanville.
Amy Roth,
Justine Johnson,
Lexee Willey and
Alyssa Delgadillo all scored three goals for the Cougars while
Katie Reilly,
Taylor Hannaberry,
Kaila Quinlivan and
Emily Connell had two goals apiece.
Ritter and
Lauren Weitzel had a team-high five draw controls and Bri Ladner added three draws and two ground balls.
Roth scored three times in the first four minutes and Reilly and Connell added goals as the Cougars took a quick 5-0 lead.
Lexee Willey and Johnson followed with man-up goals to make it 7-0 less than eight minutes into the game and the Cougars eventually built an 11-0 lead with 17:38 left in the first half.
After a Manhattanville goal, the Cougars four more times in the final 9:30 of the half to take a 14-1 halftime lead.
Maggie McGovern made five saves in goal to earn the win.
The Cougars improved to 9-5 overall and 4-0 in the MAC Freedom and will host Wilkes, Wednesday at 7:00.
