The Misericordia University men's lacrosse team dropped a hard-fought 15-8 decision at DeSales in the MAC Freedom semifinals, Wednesday night.

Paul Hanrahan led the Cougars with three goals and
Robert Wagner and
Brandon Winslow both had two goals and an assist.

Patrick Luzzi had a goal and an assist.
Â
Matt Beck made 14 saves and had five ground balls.

After DeSales opened the game with a 6-0 run in a six-minute span midway through the first quarter, the Cougars mounted a comeback.

Hanrahan got the MU on the board with an unassisted goal with :14 left in the first period.

Winslow scored twice early in the second quarter to get within 6-3.
Â
Wagner scored just before halftime to get the Cougars within 8-5.

The rally continued in the second half as Hanrahan and Luzzi scored less than a minute apart early in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 8-7. But, the Bulldogs answered with another 6-0 run.

The Cougars ended the season at 9-7.
