MU Women Draw at Susquehanna

The Misericordia University women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 double-overtime draw, Wednesday night at Susquehanna.

Jordyn Martini scored on a penalty kick for MU midway through the second half.

Alexis Benedetto made 10 saves in goal for the Cougars.

Susquehanna took the lead in the 39th minute and held until the 73rd minute.

Kaylee Sturans shot was saved by a Susquehanna defender, but the play resulted in a penalty kick, which Martini converted to pull MU even.

The Cougars' nearly won the game early in the second extra session, but Michaela Fasolino's direct kick from just outside the box sailed just over the crossbar.

Misericordia is 4-2-2 and will host Messiah, Saturday at 7:30.
