The Misericordia University field hockey team opened MAC Freedom play with a 5-0 at Delaware Valley, Saturday.
Anna Effinger had two goals for the Cougars and
Kayla Pogash added a goal and an assist.
Rebecca Kaschak and
Mikayla Cavenas also scored for MU.
Katelyn Campbell made six saves to earn the shutout.
Effinger scored twice in the first quarter with assists from
Madisyn Granoski and
Elizabeth Fry.
Pogash made it 3-0 early in the third quarter with an assist from
Allie Bianco.
Kaschak scored off an assist from
Kyleigh Knell with six minutes left in the second quarter.
Cavenas closed out the scoring less than a minute into the third quarter.
The Cougars are 5-5 and will host Susquehanna Wednesday at 7:00.
