When Dr. Andrea (Johnson) Davis '99 '10 arrived on the Misericordia campus, the softball program was well established while physical therapy program was in its infancy.

A native of Cherry Hill, NJ, Davis earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in '98 and '99, respectively, and returned to Misericordia to earn her transitional doctorate in physical therapy in 2010.

A four-year letter-winner, she was a three-year starter at third base and a two-time team captain while leading the softball team to three consecutive Pennsylvania Athletic Conference championships in 1996, 1997 and 1998.

The Cougars also captured the 1996 and 1998 Eastern College Athletics Conference championships.

A career .382 hitter, Davis ranks ninth in career on-base % (.458) and her .557 on-base % in 1996 is the second-best single-season mark in school history.

Davis resides in Medford, NJ with her husband, Rich, and their children, Tyler, 12, and Kaitlyn, 10.

With more than 20 years of experience in orthopedic and sports physical therapy, Davis opened Davis Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab clinic in Medford in 2016.

Davis credits her experience as a student-athlete at Misericordia for her business success as she models her clinical team after a sports team with each member contributing to the group's success.

She is proud of the way her staff handled the COVID-19 pandemic, especially the fact that the clinic never closed.

Rather, the team changed over ALL patient exercise programs to home programs and delivered equipment, including portable bikes, therabands and weights, to ALL patients to make ensure that each patient had what they needed to continue their care.

In addition to having telehealth programs in place within one week and securing the necessary PPE, Davis PTSR assisted other clinics across the country in navigating telehealth and billing for these services.

Despite being in a pandemic hot bed, Davis was able to avoid any reduction in salary, staff or benefits while maintaining patient care.

In addition, the Davis PTSR staff have developed a state-of-the-art injury prevention program - Analytics for Athletes which will be presented to the state as the gold standard in injury preventative screening.

Davis believes that her experience as a member of an intercollegiate athletics team has provided with the experience and confidence to run a successful business and she is proud to be a Cougar!
