The Misericordia University softball team had four players named to the All-MAC Freedom team, including Player of the Year
Emily Susanj.
Susanj was joined on the first team by
Mackenzie Fizer,
Bridget Doherty and
Casey Funesti.
Susanj was named first team at catcher while Fizer was selected at second base.
Doherty was honored as an outfielder and Funesti was named as DP/utility player.
Susanj was fourth in the league in batting (.405) and slugging (.595) and was fifth in on-base % (.464).
She had an eight-game hitting streak during the conference schedule and had eight multi-hit games. She had two three-hit games and had one four-hit game.
Fizer led the league with 39 RBI and 16 doubles. She was third in runs scored (34 and sixth in hits (44). She hit safely in 28 of 43 game played. She had four hits in a win over King's and had three three-hit games.
Doherty led the league in runs scored (51) and was second in hits (57). She was second in the league with 24 stolen bases and was 13
th in batting (.377). She was 17
th in on-base % (.423).
She hit safely in 31 games and had 17 multi-hit games, including a pair of four-hit games.
Funesti hit .346 and was third in the league with five homers. She was 13
th in the league in slugging % (.504) and 10
th in the league with 27 runs scored. She was fifth in the league with 32 RBI seventh in the league with 44 hits .
She had 11 multi-hit games, including one four-hit game.
The Cougars finished 29-14 and finished second in the MAC Freedom Championships.
