The Misericordia University baseball team picked up a 5-3 win at Arcadia, Tuesday.

Brendan Gray worked 6.2 innings to earn his first collegiate victory and got relief help from Isaac Snyder and Sean Boylan.

Gray struck out three while allowing just two earned runs before Snyder came on for 1.1 innings.

Boylan struck out one in a perfect ninth to earn his first save.

Boylan added an RBI-double and Tyler Holzapfel had a double, a sac fly and scored two runs.

Misericordia scored once in the third through sixth innings to take a 4-0 lead.

Arcadia rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh and the Cougars added an insurance run in the ninth.

Dalton Emerich walked to start the third inning, stole second and went to third on Austin Miles' single to center field.

After a pitching change, Holzapfel brought home Emerich with a sacrifice fly to right field.

Brady Madden led off the fourth inning with a single to center field.  He moved up on a sacrifice bunt and took third on a fly out to right before scoring on a wild pitch to make it 2-0.

Holzapfel doubled to center field with one out in the fifth and scored on Boylan's double to right field to put MU up, 3-0.

Shane Hughes reached base via hit pitch to open the sixth, moved up a sac bunt and came around to score on Joe Liscio's single down the left field line for a 4-0 lead.

With one down in the ninth inning, Holzapfel was hit by a pitch and went to second on a balk before eventually scoring on a single up the middle by Sean Lyons.

The Cougars will host Wilkes in their MAC Freedom opener, Friday.
