Carly Stoner scored two goals each to lead the Misericordia University women's soccer team to a 9-2 win over Wilkes, Tuesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.
Emma Sweitzer had a goal and two assists and
Kaylee Sturans added a goal and an assist as the Cougars improved to 11-1 overall and 3-0 in the MAC Freedom.
Michaela Fasolino,
Nikki Bell and
Ally Waite added goals for MU.
Fasolino put MU in front when she buried a rebound off Sturans' shot from the right wing at 6:55.
Sturans made it 2-0 less than a minute later when she placed a shot from the right side of the box inside the left post at 7:51.
Wilkes got on the board at 16:18, but Sweitzer buried another rebound less than 30 seconds later to give MU a 3-1 lead at 16:42.
Sweitzer found Field near the left post at 19:43 and connected with Waite who rolled a shot across the box inside the right post for a 5-1 lead at 25:50.
Stoner closed out the first-half scoring with a penalty kick at 36:39 to put MU ahead, 6-1.
The Cougars placed 22 of their 35 shots on goal while allowing just eight shots.
MU had a 16-1 edge in corners.
Misericordia will host Stevens, Saturday.
