The Misericordia University field hockey team clinched a MAC Freedom postseason berth with a 4-1 win over King's, Saturday at Mangelsdorf Field.

Allie Bianco had two goals and an assist and
Anna Effinger and
Olivia Kempf both added goals as the Cougars improved to 11-5 overall and 5-1 in the MAC Freedom.

Mikayla Cavenas added two assists for MU to extend her MAC Freedom best to 10 assists for the season.

Bianco got the scoring started with a goal after a
Madison Posivak pass was placed at the doorstep of the goal late in the first period. Bianco inserted a penalty corner and then took the feed from Posivak at 12:00.

Effinger put MU up 2-0 early in the second quarter, after a two-touch pass from
Morgan Walsh and Bianco positioned Effinger in front of the cage for an easy goal.Â

Bianco added another goal midway through the second quarter with an assist from a Cavenas at 22:22.Â
Cavenas brought the ball up the baseline and centered a pass to Kempf, who dodged a defender and beat the keeper to give MU a 4-0 lead at 25:10.Â
The Cougars won the shots battle 15-4 and took 12 corners while allowing just three.
