Cougars Fall at Lycoming

The Misericordia University football team dropped a 44-16 decision at Lycoming, Saturday.

David Cromwell and Colten Peischl both scored touchdowns for the Cougars while T.J. Prather recorded a safety.

Mitchell Micale was 17-23 with 183 passing yards and one touchdown.

Alex Hafner led the Cougars with eight tackles while Prather had seven stops.

Lycoming scored on the opening possession and then converted an MU fumble into another score for an early 14-0 lead.

The Warriors kicked three field goals and added a touchdown just before halftime to take a 30-0 lead.

MU got on the board when Prather's sack in the end zone early in the fourth quarter.

The Cougars took over near midfield when the ensuing free kick went out of bounds at the MU 47-yard line.

Micale hit Jadyn Childs for 15 yards to convert a third-and-four and the duo connected again for 19 yards on first down to the Lycoming 13.

The Cougars took advantage of a penalty to set up first-and-goal and Cromwell went in from two yards out with 6:27 to play.

Micale ran for the two-point conversion to make it 44-10.

The MU defense forced a three-and-out and got the ball back with 4:16 to play.

Micale hit Kevin Pearson to convert a third-and-12 and a Lycoming penalty two plays later moved the ball to the Warriors 31.

Micale found Carlos Artson and Childs for a pair of 12-yard completions to set up first-and-goal at the seven.

Peischl caught a seven-yard pass from Micale on first down to make it 44-16 with just under a minute to play.

Lycoming ran out the clock to secure the win.

Misericordia will travel to Stevenson, Saturday.
