The Misericordia University women's volleyball team will open the MAC Freedom Tournament with a trip to Stevens, Wednesday at 7:00.
The Cougars are seeded third and are making their third consecutive postseason appearance after finishing 14-16 overall and 5-3 in the MAC Freedom.
Stevens finished 24-5 overall and 7-1 league play to earn the second seed. The Ducks won the regular season meeting, 3-0.
Misericordia lost at Stevens in the MAC Freedom semifinals in 2019 in the only previous postseason meeting.
The Misericordia/Stevens winner will face the DeSales/Arcadia winner for the MAC title, Saturday.
MU's tandem of
Fiona Pyfer (2.79) and
Faith Merritt (2.75) are ranked fifth and sixth, respectively, in the MAC Freedom in kills per set.
Annika Massa leads the league with 8.49 assists per set and
Alexa Monro is tied for second with 0.60 aces per set.
Massa adds 0.48 aces per set and the Cougars are second in the league with 2.50 aces per set.
Stevens leads the league in team hitting (.202), kills (12.3/set), assists (11.5/set), blocks (1.8/set) and aces (2.7/set).
Admission is $5 for adults and $4 for senior citizens. Students and children are $2.
