The Misericordia University field hockey team dropped a tough 2-0 decision at Stevens in the MAC Freedom championship game, Saturday.
The Ducks scored in each of the first two quarters and held off a late MU rally to claim the crown and earn a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
After being held without a shot over the first three quarters, the Cougars managed four shots over the final 15 minutes, including two shots on goal.
Olivia Gretz made four saves in goal for MU, who finished 13-6.
Trailing 2-0,
Kristen McCloskey put the first on goal for the Cougars, but Emily Franco made the save with less than nine minutes remaining.
Shannon Murphy fired a shot on goal with just under six minutes to play, but was denied by Franco.
