The Misericordia University cheerleaders recently its 2021 Charity Cup Challenge.
 
Junior team captain Lindsey Warden organized the event that provided non-perishable food items to local food pantries and volunteer fire companies.
 
The drive collected 2,791 non-perishable food items and 140 cases of bottled water.
 
The team distributed food items to the Back Mt. Food Pantry, Fellowship Food Pantry and St. Peter & Paul's Food Distribution Center and provided water to the Sweet Valley, Shavertown and Northmoreland Volunteer Fire companies.
 
The Carbondale Jr. Chargers and the Wilkes-Barre Bears Senior Rec squad were the top two donor teams.
