The Misericordia University men's volleyball team earned a 3-1 win at Wilkes, Wednesday.

The Cougars took the first two sets, 25-17, 25-18.  Wilkes won the third set before MU won the clincher, 25-17.

Brian Ross and Matt Lavin had 10 kills each while Tyler Mallozzi added eight kills and five aces.

Dylan Sellitti had 33 assists and three aces while Conner Westerfield had 18 digs.

The Cougars jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never trailed in the opener. 

DePalma and Bauder combined for three kills in a 4-0 spurt to give the Cougars an 18-10 lead and Wilkes never got closer than six points the rest of the way.

Misericordia fell behind early in the second set, but Lavin and Mallozzi had three kills each to fuel a 10-1 run to take a 22-16 lead.

Mallozzi and Ross had kills to close the set.

Wilkes never trailed in the third set, despite a late 6-2 run by the Cougars.

MU bounced back in the fourth set and took a 4-1 lead thanks to three kills by DePalma.

Mallozzi had three aces and Lavin added two kills as the Cougars scored five straight points to take a 13-5 lead.

Another 4-0 spurt made it 18-7 and put the match away.

The Cougars will host Stevenson for a doubleheader, Saturday at 1:00.
