The Misericordia University men's volleyball team dropped a pair of hard-fought 3-1 decisions to Stevenson, Saturday afternoon on Doc Mould Court.

In the opener, MU handed Stevenson their first set loss of the season, 25-19, before dropping three straight, 25-18, 25-17, 25-16.

In the nightcap, Stevenson took the first set, 29-27 and the Cougars answered with a 25-21 win in the second set.  Stevenson won the next two, 25-11, 25-23, to secure the win.

Billy Murphy led the Cougars with 13 kills in the opener while Anthony DePalma had 11 kills and four blocks. 

Dylan Sellitti had 35 assists and Conner Westerfield added 14 digs.

Murphy had 14 kills in the nightcap and DePalma added 13.

Austin Cervasio had six kills and six blocks and Brian Ross added five blocks.

Sellitti had 37 assists and for blocks and Westerfield had 12 digs.

In the first set of the day, the Cougars scored four straight points to take 6-3 lead.  After a Stevenson error, Murphy and Cervasio followed with kills and Ross had an ace.

Ross had an ace and a kill as part of a 4-0 run to give the Cougars a 17-11 lead.

Stevenson pulled within 22-19, but the Cougars closed the set with three straight points.
