The Misericordia University women's tennis team won its season opener, 6-3, Saturday at Lycoming.

Brianna Pizzano and Emily Brecker were both double-winners in their collegiate debuts.

Hailey Louglin, Laura Visalli and Cassandra Benderavich added wins for the Cougars.

Pizzano won 6-0, 6-0, at first singles and Becker won 6-1, 6-1, at number two and teamed for an 8-1 win at first doubles.

Loughlin won 6-2, 6-7, 9-7 at third singles and Visalli won 6-3, 6-4 at number four.

Benderavich won 6-0, 6-0 at sixth singles.
