The Misericordia University men's volleyball team defeated Wilkes, 3-1, Monday night on Doc Mould Court.
The Cougars took the first two sets 25-13, 25-17 before Wilkes won the third set, 25-16. MU rebounded to win the clincher, 25-19
Anthony DePalma led the Cougars with 13 kills, three aces and five digs while Caleb Bauder had seven kills, two aces and a block.
Matt Lavin had six kills and two blocks.
Bauder had MU's first three kills in the opener as Wilkes grabbed an early 7-5 lead.
Another Bauder kill was part of six straight points to give MU an 11-7 lead.
Bauder added back-to-back aces to put the Cougars ahead 19-11.
Kills by Billy Murphy and Lavin capped a 6-1 run to close out a 25-13 win in the opener.
DePalma had two aces as the Cougars opened the second set with six straight points.
Zane Martin's kill ended a 5-0 run as the Cougars built a 14-2 lead. MU maintained a nine-point lead throughout the set.
Wilkes took a 6-2 lead and never trailed the rest of the way in the third set.
DePalma had five kills and the Cougars never trailed in the fourth set.
MU will visit Widener, Wednesday.
