The Misericordia University softball team split a doubleheader at King's, Sunday, to take three of four games in the weekend series.
After falling 13-10 in the opener, the Cougars rebounded to win the nightcap, 5-1.
In the opener,
Zariah Alvin,
Maddie Holub,
Kaitlin Redling,
Jessica Oltman and
Antonia Pacillo all had two hits.
In the nightcap, Holub homered while Redling had two hits and
Nicole Elliott drove in two runs.
Emily Wenner scattered eight hits while allowing just one unearned run to earn the win.
After falling behind 6-0 after one inning, the Cougars got two runs back on a bases-loaded single by
Amanda Butera.
King's scored four times in the third inning to take a 10-2 lead, but the Cougars answered with seven runs in the top of the fourth.
Oltman and
Megan Fenstermaker singled to open the fourth and Pacillo drove in a run with a double down the left field line.
Holub and Redling had RBI-hits and Bri Holder added a sacrifice fly and Oltman doubled in a run with her second hit of the inning to get the Cougars within 10-9.
Pacillo tripled to lead off the fifth and scored the tying run on Alvin's single to left field.
King's twice in the bottom of the fifth and once in the sixth to secure the win.
In the nightcap, King's took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
The Cougars went ahead in the top of the third.
Megan Murphy reached on an error and Pacillo walked and both later scored on a two-out double to right field by Elliott.
Pacillo was hit by a pitch in the fifth and Holub made it 4-1 with a two-out, two-run homer to left field.
Redling doubled to left center to open the sixth inning and eventually came home with an insurance run on Holder's sacrifice fly.
The Cougars will complete their series with Lycoming, Wednesday at Anderson Field.
