The Misericordia University women's lacrosse season came to an end with a 14-6 loss to Stevens in the MAC Freedom semifinals, Thursday night at Mangelsdorf Field.
Emily Connell had two goals, three draw controls and two ground balls to lead the Cougars.
Lauren Weitzel had two goals and eight draw controls and
Justine Johnson had a goal and an assist.
Maggie McGovern stopped a free position shot in the opening minute and Weitzel gave the Cougars the lead on a free position shot just over two minutes into the game.
After Stevens tied it at 25:50, Johnson took a pass on the right wing and found Connell racing down the middle where she bounced a shot inside the left post for a 2-1 lead with 20:09 to go in the first half.
Stevens scored for straight goals to take a 5-2 lead late in the first half.
Keira Andrews scooped up a ground ball and found
Genevieve Montanye who fed Johnson to get the Cougars within 5-3 with 7:11 to play in the first half.
Stevens scored three straight goals before
Alyssa Delgadillo scored with 1:19 to go and the Cougars trailed 8-4 at halftime.
The Cougars ended the season at 9-4.
