The Misericordia University women's soccer team remained undefeated with 1-0 overtime win over fifth-ranked Carnegie Mellon, Sunday at Mangelsdorf Field.
Michaela Fasolino scored the golden goal on an assist from
Maegan Allspach with just six seconds remaining in overtime.
The Cougars won two matches in the Cougar Classic over the weekend to improve to 4-0 while handing Carnegie Mellon its first loss.
Allspach put a good move on a defender to create space, faked a shot, and found Fasolino on the other side of the box for the game-winner.
The Cougars had several opportunities early in regulation, but were denied. Carnegie Mellon's best chance was a shot off the crossbar in the 13
th minute.
Fasolino had a good look in the 57
th minute, but her shot was saved and
Emma Sweitzer's shot off a corner was just wide left in the 78
th minute.
Alexis Benedetto had four saves on the day to post her second straight shutout.Â
The Cougars are 4-0 for the first time since 2016.Â
Misericordia will travel to SUNY Cortland, Wednesday. Â
