Four players scored in double figures to lead the Misericordia University men's basketball team to a 77-73 win at SUNY-Cobleskill, Monday.
Derek Smith had 14 points and
Nick Prociak added 11 while Joe Baldachino and
Nick Hornung scored 10 each.
Chris Robinson had seven points, four rebounds and four assists.
The Cougars held a commanding 60-37 edge in rebounds, including 21-10 on the offensive end.
Smith made a three-pointer to put the Cougars in front for good, 7-5, less than three minutes into the game.
Hornung scored seven points and
Blake Beebe added a three-pointer as part of a 12-0 run to extend MU's lead to 24-10 midway through the first half.
Robinson and Smith connected on three-pointers and Baldachino made a layup for a 44-30 with 1:31 remaining in the half.
Beebe hit another three-pointer and
Jake Bartholomew and Prociak both added a pair of free throws to put the Cougars ahead, 65-47, with 6:31 to play.
The Tigers chipped away over the final 90 seconds, but Bartholomew and
Daron Pierre combined for six free throws in the final 30 seconds to secure the win.
MU will host King's, Wednesday.
