Box Score The Misericordia University men's basketball team dropped another close decision, 75-69, to Amherst, Sunday evening on Doc Mould Court.

Nate Kreitzer led the Cougars with 22 points and
Kevin Lazdowsky had 11 points and eight rebounds.

Lazdowsky and
Nick Hornung hit back-to-back three-pointers to give MU an early 7-4 lead.

Kreitzer drained a three-pointer from the left wing to give the Cougars a 15-13 lead with 13:58 left in the first half.

Daron Pierre went coast-to-coast off a steal and Kreitzer added a pull-up jumper from the foul line as the Cougars extended their lead to 27-18 with 9:17 to play in the first half.

Kreitzer converted a steal into an easy lay-up for a 38-34 with 2:33 remaining, but Amherst closed the half on a 6-0 run to in front, 40-38, at halftime.

The Cougars went back in front, 59-58, on a layup from
Elijah Rosenthal with 7:08 to play and Pierre sank three free throws to make it 62-58.

Amherst answered with a 9-0 run to go ahead for good.

The Cougars will visit Wilkes, Wednesday.
