The Misericordia University women's basketball team dropped their MAC Freedom matchup at Stevens, 59-46, Saturday afternoon.

Samantha Hardy led the team with nine points on 4-6 shooting while
Nora Tracey grabbed eight rebounds and made four steals.

Elizabeth Fasti scored seven points and went 2-3 from beyond the three-point arc and
Morgan Haefele recorded a team-high four assists.

Fasti drained a three-pointer for the first Cougars basket of the afternoon and
Skylar Bianchi hit an 18-foot jumper to put MU up 5-4.

A Hardy turn-around layup gave MU an 11-10 lead to end the first quarter.

Tracy made the first basket of the second quarter on a long pass from
Rachel McDonald.

A Haefele three-pointer with an assist from Fasti tied the game at 16.

Fasti connected on a three to get the Cougars within one, 22-21, with less than a minute left in the first half.

Bianchi grabbed an offensive rebound and made an unassisted jumper for the first Cougar basket of the second half.

Nora Tracey put a move on two defenders under the basket for a layup to make the score 36-28.

Melina Santacroce completed a three-point play to get MU within five.

Rachel McDonald hit a three-off a Haefele assist with 48 seconds left in the third.

Hardy got the fourth quarter started with a layup to pull the Cougars within three.

Jocelyn Grosch's mid-range basket near the halfway point in the fourth got MU within two buckets and Santacroce kept the momentum in Misericordia's favor with a layup on the following possession.

Hardy made another layup with less than five minutes remaining to make the score 49-44, but Stevens closed the game on a 10-2 run.

The Cougars are now 6-7 overall and 2-4 in MAC Freedom action. Â Â MU will travel to Keystone College, Monday night.
