The Misericordia University field hockey team dropped a tough 2-1 decision to Stevens on Homecoming, Saturday at McGeehan Field.

Tatyanna Lainez gave the Cougars an early lead, but Stevens scored twice in the fourth quarter to rally for the win.

Sarah Bogina made five saves in goal for the Cougars.

Lainez took a pass near the top of the circle, turned and dribbled through three defenders before lifting a shot over the extended right leg of the goalie and inside the left post to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead early in the first quarter.

The score stood for more than 40 minutes until Stevens scored early in the fourth quarter.

The Ducks scored the game-winner on a rebound with less than six minutes remaining.

Misericordia is 3-6 overall and 1-2 in the MAC Freedom.

The Cougars will travel to Scranton, Wednesday.
