The Misericordia University field hockey team dropped a tough 2-1 loss to first-place DeSales, Wednesday afternoon at McGeehan Field.

Meghan Radnoff scored the Cougars' lone goal from a
Morgan Walsh assist.

Sarah Bogina made a season-high 14 saves in goal for MU.

Bogina went to work right off the opening whistle, recording three saves in the first 45 seconds. Bogina locked down the cage, finishing with five saves in the first period.

In the second period,
Tatyanna Lainez had a scoring chance after drawing a penalty stroke, but her attempt was stopped.

After DeSales broke a scoreless tie with just over two minutes remaining in the first half, Misericordia pulled even on a corner with eight seconds remaining.Â
Ashley Pitz's inbound pass went to Radnoff, to Walsh and back to Radnoff for the tying goal.

DeSales scored the game-winner midway through the third period.

Olivia Kempf took a shot off a corner midway through the third quarter, but was denied.

Lily Metress had a one-on-one opportunity in the fourth period but was stopped by the keeper, who came out of the goal to disrupt the play.

Metress took another shot in the 56th minute but could not get past the goalie.
