The Misericordia University field hockey team lost in a sudden death penalty stroke shootout, Wednesday night at Delaware Valley.
Meghan Radnoff and
Lily Metress scored for the Cougars.
Radnoff gave MU a 1-0 midway through the first quarter.
The Aggies tied it five minutes before halftime and Metress put MU back in front on a rebound goal midway through the third quarter.
Del Val scored with less than three minutes remaining in regulation to force overtime.
After two scoreless overtime periods, the teams went to a shootout.
The first two shooters for both teams missed before
Ashley Pitz put MU up 1-0. Del Val connected on its next two attempts and
Abigail O'Donnell converted to keep the Cougars alive.
Del Val missed their fifth attempt, but the Aggies made their first attempt in sudden death to pull out the win.
Misericordia will travel to King's, Saturday afternoon.
