Box Score Max Gariano scored a pair of goals as the Misericordia University men's soccer team clinched a MAC Freedom postseason berth with a 4-0 win over King's, Tuesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.

Drew Weaver added goals for the Cougars and
Luke Ferrarese had a pair of assists.

Andrew Daubenspeck made four saves to earn the shutout.

Misericordia controlled the possession throughout the early portion of the match and got on the board when Yarabinee stripped a King's player in their own end and out-raced the defender to the top of the box where he placed a shot into the upper right corner for a 1-0 lead at 28:39.

Ferrarese made a similar play on the left flank and found Gariano in front where his one-timer made it 2-0 at 22:28.

Alexei King nearly made it 3-0 later in the half, but his shot was denied on a diving save near the left post.

Richard Billings' header in the 36
th minute was just wide of the right post the Cougars took a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Ferrarese played a ball to Gariano near the top of the box where he took a touch and fired a shot into the right corner for a 3-0 lead at 62:38.

Weaver headed home a corner from King for the final goal at 71:52.

Daubenspeck was untested throughout much of the night, but made a diving save near the left post in the 83
rd minute and made a point-blank save with three minutes remaining to preserve the shutout.

Misericordia improved to 10-3-4 overall and 5-2 in the MAC Freedom while moving into a tie for second place.
