Faith Merritt's career-high seven aces lifted the Misericordia University women's volleyball team to a 3-0 win over MAC Freedom rival, FDU-Florham, Tuesday night on Doc Mould Court.

The Cougars swept the Devils 25-16, 25-18, 25-22.

Megan Peters and
Fiona Pyfer tied for the team lead with seven kills apiece while
Jessica Cleveland had a game-high 11 digs and a pair of aces.

Jenna Schuda recorded 28 assists and four kills while Merritt finished with six kills and seven digs along with seven aces.

Pyfer went right to work in the opening set, recording back-to-back kills for the first two points of the evening.

The Cougars went on a five-point run thanks to two Cleveland aces.

A big swing from
Sadie Stockslager set up the set point, and
Rachel LoFaso added a kill for the 25th point.

Megan Peters got the second set started with a kill for the opening score.

A Schuda setter dump keyed a seven-point Cougar run. During the run, Merritt dissected the Devil's defense, recording five consecutive aces to extend the Cougar lead to12-5.

MU scored four in a row late in the set behind a
Delaney Boyd ace and kills from three different Cougars which led to
Lena Eldrenkamp swatting down the set point.

Misericordia dropped the first five points of the third set and trailed by as much as seven.

A 7-1 run from MU tied the set, 15-15 with four different Cougars adding kills during the rally.

Back-to-back kills from
Madison Tullo tied it back up, 17-17, and
Adele Decker added two aces to give the Cougars their first lead of the set.

Tied 22-22, Tullo provided a kill to give the Cougars the lead and Peters put the match away with two kills.

As a team, MU had a .354% swing percentage.
