The second-ranked Misericordia University women's soccer team ended an undefeated regular season with a 6-0 win at Delaware Valley, Saturday.
Emma Sweitzer and
Colleen Kinsella both had two goals and an assist as the Cougars finished 16-0-1 to extend their school-record unbeaten streak to 17 games.
Sabrina Competiello had a goal and an assist and Olivia Maniskas added a goal.
The Cougars showed their dominance on both ends as they fired 53 shots and allowed just one.
Competiello gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead on just the second shot of the game with an assist from Sweitzer at 2:39.
Sweitzer made it 2-0 on MU's next shot with an assist from Kinsella just over two minutes later.
Kinsella scored unassisted for a 3-0 lead at 12:38.
After Esabella Mendola hit both posts in a four-minute span, Kinsella scored again with an assist from
Carly Stoner at 36:25.
Sweitzer scored unassisted less than three minutes into the second half and Maniskas added a goal in the 82
nd minute.
Misericordia will host a MAC Freedom semifinal, Wednesday at 7:00.
Coach Stauffer's Comments:"We played another solid match today to finish off the regular season. I felt we were smart in our ball possession and were dangerous the whole match. We're looking forward to getting things going with post season on Wednesday!"
