The Misericordia University men's basketball season came to an end with a 75-64 loss at Stevens in the MAC Freedom semifinals, Friday.
Joseph Baldachino led the Cougars with 20 points while
Nick Hornung added 15 points and seven rebounds and
Kevin Lazdowsky had 10 points and eight rebounds.
Lazdowsky scored two quick buckets and Hornung's layup gave MU an 8-7 lead less than five minutes into the game.
Down 14-8, the Cougars rallied and took a 19-18 lead on two three-pointers by Baldachino and a bucket by
Nick Prociak.
Stevens went ahead for good, 26-24, and eventually built a 36-29 lead at halftime.
The Ducks stretched their lead to 58-44 midway through the second half.
Baldachino hit another three and Hornung scored on a putback to get within 62-53.
After a Stevens basket, Hornung answered with a three-pointer from the top of the key to cut the deficit to 64-56 with 4:09 to play, but the Cougars never got any closer.
