Misericordia University is in first place after the first day of the MAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships at Alvernia.

The Cougars have 57 points to top the 13-team field.

Brenna Karnish set a school, MAC Indoor Championships and facility record to win the weight throw at 17.32m.

Sarah Wagner won the long jump (5.71m) and Jill Olewine was third.

Sonialys Badillo, Amber Hackenberg, Natasha Mihalko and Sarah Wagner won the 4x200 relay (1:47.38).

Madison Swartout was second in the pole vault (3.2m) and Alexa Thompson was third at 5000m (18:16.92).

Wagner, Casey Allen, Averi Rine and Sarah DeVries finished second in the distance medley relay (12:45.23).
