The Misericordia University softball team dropped a pair of extra-innings games to Scranton, Sunday.

The Royals rallied for an 8-5 win in 10 innings in the opener and edged MU, 2-1, in eight innings in the nightcap.

McHugh retired the first 18 batters she faced in the opener and took a perfect game into the seventh inning with a 3-0 lead.

Scranton had four straight hits to open the inning and tied score, 3-3.

The Royals went ahead in the top of the eighth, but MU rallied to stay alive.

Emma Griffin scored the tying run on a fielder's choice on an obstruction call on the Scranton catcher.

Scranton turned a double play to end the inning and then plated four runs in the top of the 10
th to win.

The Royals took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second in the nightcap.

MU tied it on McHugh's solo homer in the bottom of the fifth.

Scranton scored the winning run on a double-play grounder in the top of the eighth.
